Here goes a bit of self indulgence.
I remember when this album came out. It was 2017 and I was on a bus in Germany or something, listening with shit headphones since my decent ones broke on the second leg of a 30 hour flight for a 5 week trip. For all my anticipation of the album, I think it took me until 2020 to really get it.
Mogwai have moved into
many different sounds over 20 years, but one recurring theme is simple yet effective
guitar riffs, maybe
expanded upon with layering and effects and whatnot. I love it and it’s great for an amateur guitarist who loves finger-picking a nice sounding piece. I tabbed this one myself using this video because nobody else had.
